Erin is an academic, psychologist and former professional athlete.
Her work addresses major social drivers of mental health including equity and inclusion. Her current work is focused on best practice approaches to fostering inclusive mental health promoting systems through neurodiversity. As a researcher, she has explored novel interventions for mental ill health focused on strengthening inclusion at environmental and systemic levels. Her earlier work explored opportunities to align physical health and mental health prevention and early intervention targets. As a psychologist, she trained and worked throughout regional and rural settings including schools, and health and disability service settings. As an athlete she competed at the highest levels across two codes, netball (Melbourne Vixens, NSW Swifts) and Australian Football (AFLW, Geelong Cats, Melbourne FC).
Erin is a recognised authority in her field of research and practice. She regularly delivers community engagements and keynotes as invited guest speaker. She is a Registered Psychologist, and holds a PhD (Deakin University), Master of Public Health (University of Sydney) and Master of Educational Psychology (University of Melbourne). Her work has been published in Lancet Psychiatry, Lancet Child and Adolescent Health. She has held various fellowships including an Australian National Health and Medical Research Council Early Career Fellowship, an Australian Rotary Health Postdoctoral Fellowship, and she was a Fulbright Fellow (relinquished due to COVID-19 disruptions). She was a semi-finalist in the Victorian Premier Health and Medical Research Awards and she was appointed Visiting Fellow at Peterhouse, University of Cambridge. Erin lives and works on Wadawurrung Country with her two little people.
